Interior design doesn’t just involve picking out paint and pillows, Caroline Johnson says. She should know. As an interior designer for TSP, she cares about creating spaces that her clients can take pride in showing to others and where they can accomplish their own goals. She appreciated doing the interior design work on a church in a small Iowa town because building committee members took the time to ensure the new addition represented the church’s community. “Be the person that you want to meet” serves as Caroline’s philosophy, and she puts that into practice at Struts and Stilettos, a benefit for Habitat for Humanity, and the NAWIC golf tournament, which raises scholarship funds for young women interested in the construction industry. When family and friends hear Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” playing somewhere, she knows she will receive texts and calls saying they’re thinking of her.
