We are grateful for another year filled with great people, good success, and wonderful memories. Many thanks to you for always making each year worth celebrating! Wishing you good tidings this holiday season + a blissful new year!
All Christmas ornaments are meaningful, whether they were a childhood craft, vacation souvenir, or a gift that represents a major life milestone. Below are some of #TeamTSP’s favorite ornaments.

This year, this is my favorite ornament. One-hundred-percent employee ownership helps TSP carry forward a legacy that began in 1930. Full employee ownership means any TSP team member who has been with the firm for a year has a path to ownership without the need for an upfront personal investment. It reinforces that we’re all in this together and we move the needle together. It is a very exciting time at TSP!

These glass crystals are one of a few items I have from my late grandmother who taught me how to sew and knit. These crystals bring back the memories of her warm, loving kitchen and time spent laughing with family.

We have a ton of great ornaments that we hang on the tree each year, but a couple always seem to bring an extra smile to my face. This little blue house is one of them. It reminds me of getting started as a young married couple. Buying our first house, starting a family, and starting our own Christmas traditions. And it is remarkable how much it truly looks like our first house.

I couldn’t pick one. My grandmother had a tradition of making all her grandchildren an ornament each year. After her passing my mother and aunts took turns continuing the tradition. Some are transformed items, and others are craft store creations. Twine mouse, clothes pin toy soldier (or nutcracker guy?), beer can Santa, doily angel, walnut penguin, eggshell caroler, pasta angel, wood cane Santa, shotgun shell Santa, paint brush Santa.

My favorite Christmas ornament is not actually an ornament at all – it is simply too big to hang on our tree. But my favorite Christmas decoration is an old classic steel runner sled that has been painted with a wintery Christmas theme. It is special to me because I have numerous memories of riding this very sled as a kid. One of my favorite memories is of my dad pulling my brother and me behind his pickup around the neighborhood on our sleds and some of the wild wipeouts that occurred as we went around corners – we laughed about them for days. Probably lucky neither one of us got more than some bumps and bruises, but it was sure fun at the time! When this decoration comes out each year during the holidays, I immediately smile as I think of those simpler times.

This wooden ornament was made in Germany. We received it a few years ago. I appreciate both its rustic quality and the details in the manger scene.

I can’t just choose one favorite Christmas ornament because every year my mom would make us Christmas ornaments and it’s impossible to choose a favorite from them. My mom was very crafty and would make them out of wood or out of anything she could find around the family farm. Some of the highlights are angels made from noodles and thistle burrs, a milkweed poinsettia, a wood-burned Christmas scene, a star made from fencing wire, a snowman made from tree seeds and a painted Barney. I will always treasure these handmade ornaments from my mom, and I look forward to hanging them up on the Christmas tree every year!

I chose three different photos to show my favorite ornament and why I like it. This ornament is from when I was 4 years old and is an ornament I always looked forward to putting on our family tree as a kid. The miniature scene inside was always a fun secret to reveal and felt like it could’ve been a scene straight out of our living room. Now, it is part of my own family tree as a parent, and an ornament my children look forward to putting on each year (and playing with, despite how many times I tell them to stop messing with the tree). Hopefully one of them will cherish it enough to make part of their own family tree when they are a parent as well.

Moby, the Christmas Ornament. Though Moby the Blue Whale isn’t the most festive looking ornament, my most prominent memories of Christmas over the years involve my Dad making a grand display of hanging this interesting little ornament on the tallest branch on the tree. “Oooh! Look at me, it’s my turn to hang up Moby!” He would say while dancing along to whichever song was playing, which more than likely was a 90’s Grunge rock cover to a Christmas song. As I look back, those moments are what have made Christmas special to me.

Star Trek Enterprise from 1991. This was the year I was married, and it was a gift from my mom who now has passed. It eventually led to a small collection of Star Trek and Star Wars ornaments that I used to decorate a wreath or small tree. We used to alternate the decoration of the tree each year with each family member’s theme, and space was my theme. I guess that means I still like to play with toys!

My parents would give my sister and me a new ornament every Christmas! Scooby Doo was my favorite cartoon growing up, so I was very excited when I got to add a Scooby Doo ornament to my collection! All those ornaments that we got as kids now decorate our own personal Christmas trees and they are great little mementos!

My favorite piece of Christmas décor is this lantern-like snow globe that lights up and depicts our Baby Jesus. It’s a treasure to me for a couple of reasons: One, it was gifted to me from my husband. And two, and most importantly, it reminds me of the reason for the Christmas season. When I get stressed about all the obligations that come along with the season, I look at this to remind myself of what is important during this season and every day of the year. Merry “Christ”mas everyone!

Over the years I have had many favorite Christmas ornaments, and this is just one of them. I chose this “Cherished Teddies” figurine in honor of my mother. Back in the 90’s she was an avid collector of these resin bears. This particular figurine I bought as a Christmas gift. When she opened the present, she had a smile that was as bright as the Christmas tree lights. She was so excited because it was one she had never seen before, which made it that more special. Even though my mom is no longer with us, I still have these fond little memories of these cute little bears.
