When it came time to renovation our own Sioux Falls office, we challenged our design team to create an employee-centered design studio with a sense of place and orientation to the neighborhood. The decision of the ownership group to repurpose the existing building after 40 years of use was green, but added to the challenge of designing a workplace that was inspiring, creative, open, and inviting for employees, clients, and guests.

The exterior of the circa-1970 building was dreary and dated. Over time, as the firm expanded into multiple building additions, the layout became inefficient. Multiple entrances confused clients and visitors, and work groups, departments, and support staff were separated across the building.

Today, the renovated structure projects a high-tech and professional, yet inviting image for visiting clients and guests. Our work as architectural and engineering design professionals is exemplified by the open, collaborative work spaces and rich, warm, and inviting finishes.
