Minnesota Energy Resources Corporation, Rochester Service Center Receives an ACEC Award for Engineering Excellence
TSP would like to announce and congratulate our team members on Minnesota Energy Resources Corporation’s Rochester Service Center which received a 2010 Honor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), Minnesota Chapter. The annual award program celebrates the engineering industry’s achievements in regards to innovative, unique, and responsible building solutions.
Project Overview:
Minnesota Energy Resources Corporation is a natural gas utility company serving more than 211,000 customers throughout Minnesota. This new 18,000 square foot Service Center, comprised of approximately 45% warehouse space and 55% office space, increases efficiency by combining their Rochester operations and employees into one complex.
It was important for the company to not only promote environmental stewardship among their customers but to practice what they preach. Unique design features implemented under a tight budget and schedule exhibit engineering excellence both inside and out. The facility is 34% more efficient to operate than base code, provides a comfortable and healthy work environment for employees, and is Rochester’s first LEED Silver certified building.
