The new lion and meerkat exhibit is now open at the Great Plains Zoo.

The exhibit is home to Simba and Amahle, the Zoo’s African Lions. Before their arrival, lions had been absent from the Great Plains Zoo for 30 years.

TSP collaborated with Ackerman-Estvold Engineers by providing structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering services. Lloyd Companies is the prime contractor.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held June 28.

TSP’s history of collaboration with the Great Plains Zoo dates to the early 1960s, when a long-range plan was completed before the zoo opened in June 1963. Since then, the firm has continued to partner with the zoo for numerous attractions.
