Jarrett Abenstein likes to be creative and to solve problems, noting that nothing is quite as satisfying as bringing something into actuality and then seeing it used and enjoyed. Through work experience and his educational background, he has been able to design at all scales. From a chess set, to the table it sits on, to the room in which the table is located, and the building that contains the room, Jarrett is happy to have designed a variety of projects and looks forward to future opportunities. If spending extended time on a desert island, Jarrett figures the book “SAS Survival Handbook” by John Wiseman would be a wise investment. Also on the list is “The Collected Stories of Arthur C. Clarke,” which features more than 100 short stories. Jarrett looks for ways to make a positive and direct impact in the Rochester community. Whether that’s helping an older neighbor move a heavy object, participating in community initiatives like “No Mow May,” picking up trash on the sidewalk, or bringing donations to local thrift stores and food banks, he appreciates the opportunity to pitch in and do good.
