My word for 2026 is Joy. I have my youngest daughter entering her senior year in High School and will have my older daughter moving out this year. It just reminds me to enjoy the moments I get to spend with loved ones and to bring Joy with me, so those in my life all know how much they are cared for and loved.

2026 is the Year of Organization for me. I’m a pack rat by nature. Many physical objects at home become pathways to treasured family memories, and many architectural samples surrounding me at work resurrect a smile, memories of wonderful projects and great clients over the years. It’s time to purge those objects but retain those treasured moments!

I hope to inspire a new generation of architects as I embark on a teaching adventure in the spring, and to continue to be inspired by my colleagues and the clients I get to work with in the coming year!

My personal and professional goal in 2026 is to ensure clear communication and understanding about expectations, for me and from me. Our everyday life is filled with many distractions, and those distractions can leave us discombobulated at times – at work and in life!
