Andy Winter brings a unique perspective to his role as an architectural graduate at TSP.

As a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk, NE, Andy saw firsthand the positive impact TSP made with the design of a dynamic religious space well before his hire date.

TSP’s work at Our Savior Lutheran involved converting a beverage distribution company into a modern worship center to meet the needs of a growing congregation.

“I have been going to Our Savior for most of my life,” Andy said. “It felt like more than a coincidence when I got the offer to join TSP.”

Andy earned a master’s degree in architecture and a bachelor’s degree in design, both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

He chose to become an architect because as a first-year undergraduate nutrition and exercise major, he would often accompany his then-roommate to the architecture school’s shop.

“I helped him a few different times throughout that year and slowly realized that is where I was supposed to be,” he said.

As he settles into his role in TSP’s Rapid City office, Andy is grateful for the helpfulness and kindness of team members.

He has always been impressed with the ability of a design team to go from idea to a built project, and he looks forward to the level of detail and dedication needed to do that.

Andy’s view of life is summed up with a quote from second-century Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, who said: “When you arise in the morning, think of what privilege it is to be alive, to think, to enjoy, to love.”

In his free time, Andy enjoys biking, snowboarding, waterskiing, and golfing. He also takes part in mission trips to Tijuana, Mexico, to build homes for local residents.
