After more than 38 years of dedicated service, Bernie Olsen has retired from TSP, leaving a legacy of commitment and impact.

With a degree in architectural drafting, Olsen began employment at Group II Architects in Marshall, MN in February 1987.

Group II joined TSP in October 2007. When the TSP office in Marshall closed in December 2016, she stayed with the firm, driving to Sioux Falls twice a week and working from home the other three days.

As for the things she will miss about her role at TSP, the team tops the list.

“We all have each other’s backs,” she said. “We always support each other in the good and the challenging times.”

When Olsen started in the profession, she used a drafting board and No. 2 pencils. Over the years, she gained proficiency with a number of computer programs in her role as a BIM/CAD technician.

“I love drawing and I didn’t know how I would make the switch to computers because I thought ‘this is kind of taking the fun out of it,’” she said. “But the development of computer programs has been awesome.”

Thank you for your dedication, Bernie. We wish you the best in the next chapter.
