Located on the corner of Homestead and Neal Streets near Rapid Valley, the new Rapid City Fire Station 9 will serve the city’s east side, improving response times in a high-volume area.

The station will include five drive-thru apparatus bays and house fire engines, EMS units, and the department’s Hazmat team. Designed to support seven firefighters per shift, the facility will feature dorm rooms, administrative offices, living/dining areas, and a fitness center.

It also includes collaborative space for the Rapid City Police Department, with three offices and room for officers to complete their reports.

A new public park with play equipment, shelters, restrooms, and open green space will be located just south of Fire Station 9.

TSP partnered with FMG Engineering and DesignWorks, Inc. to design the facility.
