Alex Kalmbach chose the engineering profession because he always enjoyed learning math and science during his school years. “And I wanted to pursue a career where I could solve technical problems,” he said.

As a young kid growing up in Rapid City, Alex initially wanted to become a firefighter. Although he’s not battling fires today, he brings a similar service-minded attitude to TSP, noting that he will always approach projects with the client’s perspective and needs as his top priority.

Alex cares about his friends and family. He holds Calvin and Hobbes comics in high regard and never tires of the song Black Summer by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. “It has a catchy chord progression,” Alex said.

A quote from theoretical physicist Richard P. Feynman sums up Alex’s general view on life. “Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn’t matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough.”
