As the newest team member in the TSP electrical department, Justin Ketel looks forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the practice of electrical design, making a positive impact in the community, and learning as much as he can. A strong problem-solving background and the electrical experience gained from building computers led Justin to South Dakota Mines, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. “I enjoy solving puzzles,” Justin says, “and every job is like a big puzzle that the team and I solve together.” During college, Justin participated in the South Dakota Mines Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) team, which inspires innovation through aerial robotics. He also engaged his artistic and creative side as a tenor saxophone player in the school’s concert band. The song “Ghost in the Moon” by the German supergroup metal opera Avantasia is an all-time favorite for Justin. “Every time I listen to it, I can find something new in this motivating masterpiece,” he says.
