The TSP team is privileged to help communities care for one another along the entire lifespan. Enhanced preventative care makes it possible for many people to age in place longer, enjoying hobbies and social connections. We’ve helped health systems, nonprofit organizations, and private care providers develop innovative facilities. We focus on floor plans and amenities that respect the individuality and dignity of everyone who makes their homes there.

Our residential-living designs embrace homelike furnishings and room configurations, moving away from the dorm-style corridors in traditional retirement homes. These “neighborhoods” with private and community spaces within buildings attract active seniors who choose to leave behind the maintenance that comes with owning a house.

Our planners, architects, and engineers embed unobtrusive ADA design elements within assisted-living facilities and skilled-nursing centers. Common features include zero-entry showers with handrails and folding benches, sliding “barn-door” thresholds with wide clearances for walkers or wheelchairs, and simplified controls for lighting and HVAC systems within apartment-style units.

We constantly look for ways to bring the outdoors in, with generous daylighting and connections to park-like outdoor courtyards. We’ve programmed memory-care facilities that mimic a “main street” complete with coffee shop, café, beauty salon, chapel, and even a theater. Central living rooms offer places to play board games, watch favorite TV programs, or simply enjoy one another’s presence. Family-style dining rooms and prep kitchens enable visitors to make meals with their loved ones, passing down traditions or sharing treasured secret recipes.
