Not everything must last for 100 years or more to fulfill its purpose and give work meaning, Mike Young says. He learned that after designing a temporary training center that was built to stand for only 18 months. “The users followed up at the end of the training with compliments to the design team,” he says. The key there is the word team because Mike knows it’s never just him, it’s everyone who works on a project. The client’s vision is the goal, and together the client and our team can make it happen. “Enjoy the moments you are in today,” Mike advises. “The future will figure itself out.” His favorite song is one that his young sons love singing along with: “We Will Rock You” by Queen.
