Kelli Osterloo doesn’t design for herself. Instead, her goal is to provide a design that meets a client’s needs and wants, and she enjoys that in her work as an electrical engineer. Born and raised in Columbus, NE, where her family still lives, it was an honor for her to do the electrical design work for the Columbus Community Hospital addition. “Working on a project in a community that I regularly visit at a place that I know my family and friends will use was a neat experience,” Kelli says. Everyone you meet has something to teach you, she believes. She plays in her church’s chime choir and frequently takes in events in Rapid City such as Summer Nights on Thursdays downtown and community band concerts in the park. “Learning to Fly” by Tom Petty was playing when her son was born. It already was a favorite; that made it even more meaningful.
